Laura signed with Rights Recordings, Ltd.
Laura just signed with a record label in London (Right Recordings, Ltd.) for worldwide (except North America) distribution of her album and "Float Away" as a single! They are going to release, promote and distribute the album/"Float Away" single in UK, Europe, Australian, Japan beginning in March 2009! Laura is thankful to Jeff & Jer and Little Tommy of San Diego's Star 94.1 because it was Star listeners' reaction to "Float Away" and her performance at their Thank You Party that convinced the label that "Float Away" would be a worldwide smash! This is truly exciting. Guess what this little wife and minivan driving mother gets to do at the turn of the year? Travel to London and Europe for a radio tour, promotion, TV shows, and shoot a fancy shmancy music video! (Laura still maintains all North American rights for now. She extremely thankful to everyone for their support especially to her wonderful husband, Brad! Congratulations Laura!

Laura’s song “Float Away” was selected as a Top 5 finalist in the July 2008 Song of the Year songwriting contest in the Adult Contemporary category (www.songoftheyear.com) .  This is an international contest with entries from all over the world -- Romania, The United States, Denmark, The Russian Federation, The United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Norway, and Canada.  The judges are some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Grammy winners, record labels, producers, managers, promoters, radio, publishers, etc.  Due to its placement in the contest, “Float Away” will be distributed to a broad array of industry professionals (record labels, radio promoters, managers, producers, etc.) for consideration!!!!!!!!!  This is an elite honor!

Violet Femmes Vol. 2
Laura is going to be on the new RPW Compilation CD! RPW Records is a division of Magic Puddle Productions, who passionately support independent music and have been producing and promoting concerts and festivals for over 20 years.
RPW is pleased to announce we are producing a second Violet Femmes compilation CD of original women’s music. Violet Femmes Vol 2's goal is to showcase original music from the best emerging female artists on Sonicbids. Violet Femmes Vol. 2 will be distributed to radio, media and selected music press and industry leaders in the fall of 2008. Volume 1 was enthusiastically received and featured on numerous radio shows and podcasts.

Laura’s song “Float Away” is played by Jeff & Jer on Star 94.1 FM in San Diego!
Listeners of the Jeff & Jer Showgram on Clear Channel’s Star 94.1 FM in San Diego have become some of Laura’s first fans. After Jeff & Jer played “Float Away” last Wednesday, the station’s phone lines lit up. They called Laura and interviewed her twice during the show, played three more of her songs, added her to their web site, and invited her to play at their Thank You Party August 22.  Since then, Star has continued to play “Float Away” and Laura has received an avalanche of beautiful and inspiring email messages from Star listeners.
